What data we collect

We collect only the data we need to deliver lessons. When you book a lesson through our online booking system, Zcal, we receive your name, email address, time zone, and any notes you choose to add. As you continue to take lessons with us, we keep a record of lesson information such as scheduling history, lessons booked and attended, and your level and learning goals as you share them with us in conversation. When you purchase a package, your payment is processed by Stripe; we see the transaction confirmation, your name, and your email address, but we do not see or store your card number, which remains in Stripe’s hands under Stripe’s own privacy terms. We also keep a record of emails or messages you send us and our replies, so that we can refer back to past conversations.

The greeklik.com website may collect basic technical information such as your browser type, approximate location, and the pages you visit, for security and to understand how visitors use the site. We do not run advertising trackers. We do not collect special categories of personal data such as health, religion, or political views, and we do not ask you for them.

3

Why we collect it

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, every use of your personal data must have a legal basis. We use your name, email address, and booking details to schedule lessons and contact you about them, and your payment details to process payment, on the basis of the contract between us. We retain your communications history and basic website analytics on the basis of our legitimate interest in running and improving the service. Where we ever send you marketing or promotional email, we will do so only with your explicit consent, which you may withdraw at any time.

4

Who we share data with

We rely on a small number of third-party services to run Greeklik, and these act as processors on our instructions. Your booking details are handled by Zcal. The lesson links and your name when you join are processed by Zoom and Google Meet. Payments are processed by Stripe. Our email correspondence with you is stored by our email provider. The greeklik.com website is hosted by our website host. Each of these providers has its own privacy policy. Some of them are based in the United States; in those cases, transfers are made under the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses or other lawful mechanisms.

We do not sell your personal data, and we do not share it with any third party for advertising purposes.

5

Lesson recordings

By default, we do not record lessons. If a recording would be useful for a specific lesson, we will ask for your explicit consent at the time, and the recording will be shared only with you. You may withdraw consent and request deletion at any point.

6

How long we keep your data

We keep your booking and lesson history for the duration of our teaching relationship, plus up to five years afterwards, in order to comply with Greek tax and accounting law. Invoices and payment records are kept for ten years, as required by Greek accounting law. Email correspondence is kept for up to three years after our last lesson and then deleted, unless we are required to retain it for a legal reason. Website analytics are kept for fourteen months or less.

7

Your rights

Under the General Data Protection Regulation, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal data. You have the right to access the data we hold about you, to have inaccurate data corrected, and to have your data deleted (subject to our legal record-keeping obligations). You have the right to restrict or object to certain uses of your data, the right to receive your data in a portable format, and the right to withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent as our legal basis. You also have the right to complain to a supervisory authority — for Greece, this is the Hellenic Data Protection Authority at dpa.gr. To exercise any of these rights, please email us at info@greeklik.com, and we will respond within thirty days.

8

Cookies

The greeklik.com website uses only essential cookies needed to operate the site and to load the booking widget. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. The Zcal booking widget, when loaded, may set its own cookies under Zcal’s privacy terms.

9

Children

Greeklik does not knowingly accept students under the age of sixteen without verifiable parental consent. If a minor is to be booked for lessons, a parent or guardian must contact us first so that we can record the necessary consent. If we discover that we have collected data from a child under sixteen without parental consent, we will delete it.

10

Security

We take reasonable steps to keep your data safe, including strong passwords, reputable service providers, and encrypted communication where possible. No system is one hundred percent secure; if we ever become aware of a personal data breach affecting your information, we will notify you and the relevant authority promptly, as required by law.

11

Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time as the business or applicable laws change. Any material changes will be posted on greeklik.com with an updated “Last updated” date.
