Terms of Service

Who we are
Greeklik is a trade name of Merakiops, a sole proprietorship based in Greece, operating as Greeklik. Our registered business address is Fotolivos, Drama, and our contact email is info@greeklik.com. Our website is greeklik.com.
Throughout these Terms, the words “we”, “us”, “our”, and “Greeklik” refer to the above. The words “you”, “your”, and “student” refer to anyone booking or attending lessons.
What we offer
Greeklik offers personal, online Greek-language tutoring, delivered live over video using Zoom or Google Meet, in either one-to-one or small-group (one-to-two) format. Each paid lesson lasts fifty minutes; the free trial lesson is typically thirty minutes. We are not an accredited language school and do not issue official language certifications. Lessons are educational services, and outcomes depend on each student’s engagement and practice between sessions.
Free trial lesson
Anyone interested in Greeklik may book one free trial lesson, typically thirty minutes long, through our online booking system at zcal.co. No payment information is required to book the trial. The trial exists to give both you and Greeklik a chance to see whether we are a good fit, and there is no obligation to continue afterwards. If you do not attend your scheduled trial and do not reschedule at least twenty-four hours in advance, we may decline to offer a second free trial.
Lesson packages and payment
After the free trial, students who wish to continue purchase a lesson package. The size, content, and price of the package are discussed and agreed during the trial call, and we do not publish prices on the website. Payment is processed by Stripe, and by paying for a package you also agree to Stripe’s own terms of service. We do not see or store your card details. Prices are quoted in euros unless otherwise stated, and where applicable VAT is included in accordance with Greek law.
EU consumer rights and the fourteen-day withdrawal period
If you are a consumer in the European Union, EU law gives you the right to withdraw from a service contract within fourteen days of purchase, without giving any reason. However, when you book a lesson that falls within this fourteen-day window, you are expressly requesting that the service begin during the withdrawal period. By booking your first paid lesson within fourteen days of purchase, you acknowledge that you waive your right of withdrawal in respect of any lessons that have already been delivered. You retain the right to a refund for the portion of the package that has not yet been used, less the cost of the lessons that have already taken place.
Cancellation and rescheduling
We understand that life happens, and our policy aims to be fair to both sides. For the free trial, you may reschedule at any time before the lesson begins, at no cost. For paid lessons, you must notify us at least twenty-four hours in advance in order to reschedule. Lessons cancelled or rescheduled with less than twenty-four hours’ notice are considered delivered and will be deducted from your package. In exceptional circumstances, rescheduling within the twenty-four-hour window may be permitted at the teacher’s sole discretion; this is a courtesy, not an entitlement. If you do not attend a scheduled lesson and have not notified us, the lesson is also considered delivered.
If Greeklik cancels a lesson for any reason, you will not be charged. We will either reschedule the lesson at no cost or, if a reschedule is not possible, refund that lesson at the standard per-lesson rate of your package.
Refunds
Unused lessons in a package may be refunded at any time, less the value of any lessons already delivered at the standard per-lesson rate of that package. Refunds are processed within fourteen days of request, via the original payment method. Used lessons are non-refundable, except where a refund is required by law. Unused lessons in a package expire twelve months after the date of purchase, unless we agree otherwise in writing. To request a refund, please email us at info@greeklik.com.
Your responsibilities as a student
To get the most from your lessons, and so that the service runs smoothly for everyone, we ask that you arrive on time. If you join more than ten minutes late without prior notice, we reserve the right to end the lesson early, and the full lesson will still be deducted from your package. Please use a reasonable internet connection and have working audio; video is not required but is encouraged. We ask that you treat the teacher with the same respect you would expect to be shown.
You may not record lessons, share lesson links with people who are not booked into that lesson, or screen-share confidential material with the teacher. Any materials we provide to you are for your personal study only, and may not be redistributed, sold, or published.
Lesson recordings
By default, Greeklik does not record lessons. If a recording would be helpful for a specific lesson — for example, so that you can review a pronunciation exercise — it will only be made with your explicit consent at the time, and the resulting recording will be shared only with you.
Intellectual property
The KLIK textbook series is the property of its publishers. We use it as a teaching reference, and any copies you obtain should be obtained through the publisher’s authorized channels. Any lesson plans, exercises, recordings, or written feedback that we create remain our intellectual property; you may use them for personal study but may not redistribute, sell, or publish them. The Greeklik name, logo, and brand materials remain our property and may not be used without our prior written permission.
Service availability and disclaimers
We make every reasonable effort to deliver lessons as booked, but we cannot guarantee uninterrupted service. Causes of disruption that are outside our reasonable control — including internet outages, illness, and force majeure — may result in a rescheduled lesson rather than a refund. Lessons are provided “as is”, and we make no guarantees about specific learning outcomes such as fluency within a particular time frame, exam results, or proficiency level. What you learn depends substantially on your own engagement and practice.
Limitation of liability
Nothing in these Terms limits any liability that cannot be limited under Greek law, including liability for fraud or gross negligence. Subject to that, our total liability to you for any claim relating to the lessons is limited to the amount you have paid to us in the six months preceding the claim. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental losses — including, but not limited to, missed opportunities or lost income — arising from your use of, or inability to use, our services.
Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Any material changes will be posted on greeklik.com with an updated “Last updated” date. Your continued use of the service after such a change constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of Greece. If you are a consumer in the European Union, you also retain the mandatory protections of the law of your country of residence. Before pursuing any legal action, we ask that you contact us at info@greeklik.com so that we may attempt to resolve the matter directly. If we cannot, EU consumers may use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. Otherwise, any dispute will be brought before the competent courts of Athens, Greece.
